Obviously I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, but I'm also a huge fan of Agatha Christie. They have both influenced my writing. The humor from Jane and the mystery from Agatha. The two main characters in my book, Katherine and Scott are able to tease each other because they are friends. They don't worry that something they say to the other might hurt their chances of having sex, because they both know sex isn't an option. The humor is never hurtful, but fresh and honest.
As for the mystery/suspense, I think I've sprinkled enough red herrings to keep the reader guessing. I'd tell my readers, "When you are sure you know who is hunting Katherine, think again."
