I hope everyone had a good day, with a lot of grilling, maybe some beer, and good friends and family.
All too often we forget why we get these three day weekends. We're just thrilled to get them. I hope you took just a moment today to remember why you had today off.
People are dead because they chose to join the military and go off to war. They will never get another three day weekend. They will never drink another beer or eat another bratwurst. The least we can do is take a small moment to remember them.
Next November we'll get another three day weekend, it will be for Veterans day. This day honors those who serve our country now and those who've served in the past. You do not have to wait until November to thank these people. Thank them now. Thank then now.

ReplyDeleteThis is really nice. And you're right. We do forget. But we should remember that these brave men and women are the reason we are able to celebrate and have BBQ's and parties. They are fighting so we can have these moments. So we can live.
